The last days of May have been spent
  1. rolling around in the grass capturing moments with Pia
  2. laying on the sofa binge-watching iZombie on Netflix
  3. debating whether or not my new earrings make me look like a pirate or not
  4. buying pieces of clothing that make me pretty sure that I'm turning 13 and not 30 this year
  5. telling myself that it has gone to far when your pants start to unzip themselves
  6. putting my body through hell by going jogging for the first time in forever
  7. trying a new skin routine from Dermalogica that was recommended to me
  8. trying to comprehend that a man asked me if we had bikinis for men and the only thing I could think of was Borat even though he probably meant a speedo (which in my opinion isn't really that flattering either)
  9. looking into buying furniture for a make-up station in our new apartment
  10. re-warping my Instagram to be more like my portfolio

I ran into this gorgeous lady when I was in Trondheim today. Turns out Sonja is getting married in July and I'm pretty sure she's going to be one of the most beautiful brides ever. I couldn't be happier for her!

The main reason I went to town today was because I had an appointment for an MRI of my hips/pelvis and lower back. For years I've had a slightly uncomfortable pain in these areas and when I lay down in a hard surface (e.g the floor) my lower back seems to "seize up" and it's hard to get up. A month and a half ago I started to see physiotherapist and she recommended an MRI. She thinks it might be Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction, but we can't be sure until we get the results in a couple of weeks. I'm also struggling with an inflammation in my right shoulder that just WON'T. LET. GO. It's super frustrating when your body doesn't want to cooperate with you.

I'm hoping I can get my ass back at the gym next week and at least get some cardio done. Dealing with all of this is just depressing. At least the sun is shining and it's friggin' Saturday! Hope you guys have a nice weekend.

Model: Kamilla L / Trend Models
Make-up + Styling: Sandra Sund Rodum

Fashion photography isn't really my thing, but getting to work with a model and stylist whilst studying at Fotofagskolen was nerve-wrecking, but most of all; very fun! I was so lucky to have a wonderful model and a stylist that really understood my vision. There are my favorite photos from the high end shoot (top) and the "destructive" shoot (bottom).

Loving: Sushi. Matte lipsticks. Roller-coasters. Joico K-Pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor hair mask. Silver hair. (Fake) septum rings. Unicorns. Pia. Braids. Spring. Nike. Ginger beer with ice cubes + a slice of lime. Photography. Meeting new people. Being spontaneous. Roger. ♥ Denim shorts + plaid shirts. My friends.

Watching: Way too many reality-shows. I SERIOUSLY NEED HELP.

Reading: Not reading any books at the moment, but this article caught my interest the other day.

Anticipating: Moving into our new apartment in July! I can't wait to enjoy a brand new kitchen and having a large living-room with a fireplace, big windows and a view of the ocean!

Listening to:

  • Laleh - "Bare Få Va Mig Själv"
  • Young the Giant - "Something to Believe In"
  • 4 Non Blondes - "What's Up?"

Planning: To buy a new computer. I'm debating whether or not I should invest in an 27" iMac for my home office or not... Windows has been getting on my nerves over the years and I've slowly started to convert to Apple products (MacBook Pro + iPhone). I have a feeling that an iMac will take some getting used to, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end.

AND — a trip to celebrate my 30th birthday in September. For some reason I don't feel like being home when I turn thirty. I haven't been on a real holiday since 2009 either so it's about time... I'm hoping for a week in the sun + a long weekend in the city. I really have to sit down one day and figure out where I want to go. Can you tell I suck at planning? Any advice about good travel destinations would make me forever grateful!

Working on: My eating habits. Getting back to the gym after an injury. Letting go of people I don't need in my life.

Wishing: That my body would co-operate with me.

I always find myself going back to this shoot every once in a while. Still to this day I think it's my favorite photo shoot I've ever done and it's a series of photos I'm extremely proud of. It's an artistic nude series I did whilst I was studying at Norsk Fotofagskole in Trondheim. I can't show you guys the entire series due to nudity, respect and the privacy of my stunning model. BUT — today marks this beauty's 28th birthday and it was the perfect opportunity to revisit these photos! Thank you Linn for gracing me with your beauty every single time I meet you. You are such a lovely woman, kind spirit and above all; an absolutely beautiful mother. Looking forward to our next shoot!

Happy birthday, Linn.

Dress ‣ Vero Moda // Coat ‣ H&M  // Heels ‣ H&M

Kept it simple for this year's national day (May 17th) celebration. I fell in love with this figure flattering dress from Vero Moda last week. It was such a bargain too; only 200 NOK! I've never really been a fan of stripes, but this dress was just perfection in my eyes. For all you Norwegian readers — I hope you had a lovely celebration today!

Lena Katrin

Growing up I sat in my room and wrote short-stories with a vivid imagination. My biggest dream was to become an author. Around the age of sixteen, I discovered my love for photography. I used my photography and self-portraits as a medium to express the feelings I couldn't talk about; just as I had done through my writing. My name is Lena Katrin. I am a visual merchandiser and photographer. I am artistic, creative, sensitive, easy-going, quirky and caring. And this, my friend, is where you can read the tales of a crazy cat lady armed with a camera.
